Police Log: Larceny, Man Found Sleeping in Staircase, and More

January 18
12:53 a.m. - During a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Chauncy Street and Chilson Avenue, a summons was issued to a 33-year-old male from Brockton for having an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with revoked registration, and not having an inspection sticker.
2:40 a.m. - During a motor vehicle stop on Ware Street, a 24-year-old female from Mansfield was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with revoked registration and having an uninsured motor vehicle.

11:49 p.m. - A 42-year-old male from Brockton sleeping in the stairwell of Mansfield Meadows on Bonney Lane was reported. The male, who was visiting a person in the apartment, decided to sleep in the stairwell after leaving. After not cooperating with police and stating he was going to walk to the train station, he was taken into protective custody.

3:06 p.m. - A stolen PlayStation 4 was reported at the Red Roof Inn on Forbes Boulevard. After responding, police issued two summons to a 30-year-old male from Attleboro for receiving stolen property over $250 and to a 26-year-old female from Mansfield for larceny over $250.
4:15 p.m. - A larceny was reported at a home on Brook Street.
January 20
9:28 a.m. - During a motor vehicle stop on West Street, a summons was issued to a 20-year-old male from Mansfield for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense, and speeding in violation of a special regulation.
January 21
12:40 a.m. - A caller requested an officer to respond to National Lumber on Maple Street regarding a stolen cell phone. A phone locator showed that the missing phone was at the location. After police gathered more information and statements, Roger Hopkins, 43, of Providence, RI, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250.
11:44 a.m. - Stolen jewelry was reported on Cobb Street. An officer reported that the larceny may have happened up to a month ago.
4:34 p.m. - A 21-year-old female from Providence, RI was issued a summons at the intersection of West Street and Donovan Lane for operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, obstructing a motor vehicle, not having a license in possession, and speeding.
