Police Log: Lost Dog From Wilmington Found, Shoplifting, and More

The following is from the Mansfield Police Log. Where arrests and charges are mentioned, they do not imply conviction.

December 11

9:20 p.m. - A dog was found on Norfolk Street. An officer returned to the station with the dog, who had tags from Wilmington. The owner of the dog was contacted by Wilmington police and came to the station to pick up the dog, who was missing for three months, the next day.

12:51 a.m. - During a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of School Street and Spring Street, Daniel Aronovitz, 26, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with an OUI liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, and having an unregistered motor vehicle.

9:40 a.m. - After a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of South Main Street and Route 495 North, Ruddy Sanchez Rodriguez, 20, of Providence, and Shaine Sargent, 23, of Taunton, were arrested on warrants.

11:19 a.m. - A larceny of paper was reported on South Main Street. The reporting party told police that a female entered the office and took items in an empty box. The box was located on West Street.

12:03 p.m. - A caller told police that a vehicle behind a building on Francis Avenue had all its windows smashed.

6:38 p.m. - A caller reported an erratic operator. According to the caller, the vehicle hit the guard rail coming off of Route 495 and now has a blow left rear tire. After police went to the owner’s drive way on Wagonwheel Way, John Gildea, 23, of Mansfield, was arrested and charged with an OUI liquor, failure to stop for police, operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger, and a marked lanes violation.

9:50 p.m. - A caller reported that his doorbell is being rung and no one is there. He told police he feels this may be retaliation from an earlier event, where he found a highly intoxicated male urinating on his lawn. At 11:09 p.m., the caller said he had the suspect on the ground. The suspect, a 56-year-old male from Foxborough, was placed in protective custody.

December 13

12:26 p.m. - The reporting party told police that there is a male at Kohl’s who is known to shoplift at the Walpole store. After police responded, Jarrett Skelly, 28. of Mansfield, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 and trespassing.

10:16 p.m. - A summons was issued at the intersection on Hope Street and Pratt Street to a 36-year-old female from Mansfield for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
