Police Log: A Street Full of Smashed Mailboxes, Third OUI Arrest, and More

The following is from the Mansfield Police Log. Where arrests and charges are mentioned, they do not imply conviction.

January 1

9:09 a.m. - An officer reported several damaged mailboxes on Marshall Avenue. In addition, slashed tires were also reported.

1:00 p.m. - A female at Home Depot on West Street approaching customers and asking if they wanted to buy Home Depot gift cards was reported. The person was not found during a check of the area.

5:10 p.m. - A damaged mailbox and slashed tires on Smiley Avenue was reported.

January 2

9:33 p.m. - The reporting party told police his residence was just struck with a paintball, he believes the suspect maybe driving a old gray pick up truck.

January 3

1:06 a.m. - A caller reported an intoxicated operator leaving the Tahana towards the center of town. The vehicle reportedly, took a right on to Chauncy Street and a left on to Central Street at a high rate of speed. After police pulled the vehicle over on Central Street, William Deely, 54, of Mansfield, was charged with operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger and operating under the influence of alcohol, third offense.

5:07 p.m. - A motor vehicle accident near the intersection of East Street and Franklin Street was reported. While responding, police arrested and charged Darlene Lopez, 57, of Mansfield with operating under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger.
