Proposed Development Near Train Station to Get New Planning Board Vote

The board will revote on North Common Estate on Wednesday.

A proposed development near the train station will get a second vote by the Mansfield Planning Board.

An agenda item titled “Planning Board Discussion of Reconsideration of July 22, 2015 vote on “North Common Estates” [Motion: To reconsider the July 22, 2015 vote on the “North Common Estates” special permit]” along with a public hearing is scheduled for the board’s Aug. 26 meeting at 7:30 p.m.

A mixed-use project, North Common Estates consists of a 39-unit building with 7,000 square feet of retail space and a 42-unit building with no retail space. Needed three permits from the board, the project obtained two, but the third which would allow a residential complex in a business district did not obtain the five votes needed.
