Public Safety/DPW Complex Vote Falls on Rosh Hashanah

Town Manager Bill Ross said the town would be more careful in the future to avoid major events on the Jewish High Holiday.

With the vote for the proposed Mansfield public safety/public works facility only days away, Town Manager Bill Ross said this week that the town would have to be more careful with scheduling in the future.

Tuesday’s vote falls on Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, but the holiday never came up during a discussion in June on when to have the town vote according to the Sun Chronicle. Last week, a resident who noticed the conflict informed Ross of the issue.

Locally, Weymouth has a mayoral preliminary election this week but moved election day to the 17th due to the holiday.
