NECN is reporting that many Massachusetts sheriffs are asking the Governor for a new program that will send the fingerprints of any person arrested for a crime to be sent to the immigration and customs enforcement agency, allowing them to access a data base to check if they are in the country legally. This is in wake of cases like the death of a 23-year-old Milford motorcyclist , as the suspect int he killing was already accused of several crimes and not deported.
Patrick is saying that the state won't join the program until 2013, and that fingerprints are already sent to the Federal Beauruof Investigation.
