Rival Foxboro Spoils Season Opener For Mansfield Girls' Lacrosse
The Hornets fell to the Warriors 13-7
On a cold and windy day that would make one question if this really was the spring sports season, the Mansfield girls' lacrosse team (0-1) struggled to find momentum as the Foxboro Warriors (1-1) walked away with a 13-7 win in yesterday's regular season opener at Alumni Field.
A quick goal from Katie Notarangelo less than 30 seconds into the match along with two more Warrior goals put Mansfield behind 3-0 less than two minuets into the game.
Goals from Jessica Buckley and Janet Maher cut the lead to 3-2. Later, a score from Lauren Beecher kept the Hornets within striking distance, trailing 4-3 with less than eight minutes left in the first half.
