Rock Star Arrested for Holding up Walgreens in Attleboro

Michael Todd, the bassist for the band Coheed and Cambria, was arrested in Attleboro.

Michael Todd, 30, of Anaheim, CA, and the bass player for the band Coheed and Cambria was arrested Sunday for allegedly robbing in Attleboro. 

At 1 p.m. Sunday, the responded to the Walgreens on Pleasant Street for the report of a robbery. 

"Upon arrival, it was learned that a male had threatened a pharmacist with a bomb threat and demanded Oxycontin," Attleboro Det. Sgt. Art Brillon said. "The male was given six bottles of pain pills."

Brillon said the male suspect fled behind the building and was seen getting into a cab. 

"The Attleboro Police Department dispatchers on duty were able to identify a local cab company and contacted them," Brillon said. "The cab service reported that they had picked up a fare on Pleasant Street near the Walgreens moments after the robbery."

Because Todd's band was scheduled to open up for Soundgarden at in Mansfield, Attleboro Police reached out to Mansfield Police.

Attleboro Police notified Mansfield Police to be on the lookout for Todd at the Comcast Center. Mansfield Police were given a description of Todd from Attleboro, and also the information on the cab  he allegedly used to leave the Attleboro area, which police found at the Xtramart near the Comcast Center. The cab driver led police to the back of a tour bus where they found Todd, and brought him to the Mansfield Police Station where Attleboro Detectives picked him up.

Mansfield Police Sgt. Crossman and other Mansfield officers located the cab and the suspect. Mansfield Police were given a description of Todd from Attleboro, and also the information on the cab he allegedly used to leave the Attleboro area, which police found at the Xtramart near the Comcast Center. The cab driver led police to the back of a tour bus where they found Todd, and brought him to the Mansfield Police Station where Attleboro Detectives picked him up.

Todd was arrested and charged with armed robbery and possession of a Class B controlled substance. He is being held at Attleboro Police on $10,000 cash bail.
