Roundabout Could Provide Relief For Train Station Traffic

The concept calls for a new access point from North Main Street for the train station parking area.

MANSFIELD, MA — Town officials are hoping the key to alieving rush-hour traffic at the train station could be just north of the station.

Public Works Department Director Lee Azinheira recently showed the Mansfield selectmen a proposal for a crossing and roundabout where North Main, County, and Angell Streets. The new way would provide a second access point to the train station's parking area and open up land along the tracks for development.

State Rep. Jay Barrows said the concept could provide relief for the constant traffic woes that strike the area on a nightly basis, according to the Sun Chronicle.
