Four Injured In Crash At Rt. 106-140 Intersection
Police and fire crews are at the scene.

MANSFIELD, MA – Four people were taken to the hospital following a serious crash in Mansfield Thursday morning.
At about 7 a.m., Mansfield police responding to a report of a suspicious man near the Red Roof Inn heard a crash at the intersection of routes 140 and 106. At the scene, responding officers and firefighters found a multi-vehicle crash with entrapments. Two people were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries, one was taken to Norwood Hospital with non life-threatening injuries., and the fourth person was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to Mansfield Fire.
Firefighters needed 20 minutes to free one of the trapped drivers, police said.

The initial investigation indicated that the crash was caused when one vehicle entered the intersection at a high rate of speed against the red signal turning into the path of oncoming traffic.
The road was reopened at about 9:15 a.m.
