School in Mansfield will Start After Labor Day
The school committee recently voted on the first and last days of school.
MANSFIELD, MA - After a pre-Labor Day start this year, the first day is back after the holiday.
In the proposed Mansfield school calendar, teachers return on Sept. 6, with students returning the next day. Pre-K and kindergarten student will start on Sept. 9.
Winter break will start following a half-day on Dec. 23. Superintendent Zeffro Gianetti said at a recent school committee meeting that many school districts are considering the early release and expect the day to be popular for travel.

The Class of 2017 will graduate on June 4.
The last day will be June 16 if there are no snow days. The final day moves to the June 23 if there are five snow days.

All dates were approved by the school committee. A more extensive calendar that includes professional development and parent-teacher conferences is expected at a later date.
