Search Group to Help Find Next Mansfield Superintendent

The school committee voted to use the Massachusetts Association of School Committees as the agency for the search.

MANSFIELD, MA — The search for the new superintendent will look similar to the search conducted in 2014.

Tuesday night, the school committee voted to use the Massachusetts Association of School Committees as the agency for the search. The group was used during the previous search and offers services for committees looking for a new superintendent.

“The two benefits I see are the price and they’ve gone through this so many times they have some insight,” committee chairperson Kiera O’Neil said.

The committee learned that they would need to find a new head of schools last month when Zeffro Gianetti announced his intent to retire at the end of the school year. He was named the Mansfield superintendent in 2014 after serving four years as the principal of Qualters Middle School.
