Selectmen to Talk Marijuana Dispensary Wednesday Night
A presentation is set for 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

MANSFIELD, MA - The selectmen will hear a proposal for a medical marijuana dispensary Wednesday night.
"Presentation By CommCan, Inc. Regarding Proposed Medical Marijuana Dispensary And Consideration Of Issuing Letter Of Support Or No Contest" is listed on the board's agenda for 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall
The selectmen were first notified of the proposal in March. The applicant, Millis-based CommCan Inc., is aiming to open a location on West Street near Forbes Boulevard. The company has met with some town officials, but this will be their first formal presentation in front of the selectmen.

If approved, the building would need a special permit because the lot's dimension does not comply with zoning requirements. The location otherwise complies with town regulations on medical marijuana dispensaries.
After the presentation, the selectmen can approve the project or issue a vote of non-opposition. If no vote is made, a permit cannot be granted and the process ends.

Locally, an effort to bring a dispensary to Foxborough ended after the board chose to not issue a vote.
