Sex Offender Charged With Exposing Himself to Teen at Mansfield Hotel

A Level 2 Sex Offender now faces charges after allegedly exposing himself to a 13-year-old female.
Stan Shapiro, 56, of North Attleboro, was arrested on July 4 and charged with open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior. He was arraigned in Attleboro District Court on July 6 according to Mansfield police.
On July 3, Mansfield police responding to an incident at the Holiday Inn on Hampshire Street. The parents of the victim told police that between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., an older white male in his 50s exposed his genitals in the hotel’s hot tub to their daughter, a 13-year-old.

The next evening, an employee at the hotel reported a male in the hot tub area that matched the description of the suspect. An officer at the scene found the male, confirming that he matched the description given the previous evening. Shapiro attempted to leave through a side door upon seeing the officer but another Mansfield officer stopped him.
The victim was able to positively identify Shapiro as the suspect.

During the booking process, it was determined at this time that Shapiro was a Level 2 Sex Offender.
Shapiro is free on $10,000 cash bail. His case is currently pending.
