For the past year, Gil has been developing a new genre of original music, and is now starting to play them publicly. This Coffeehouse presentation will be the first opportunity to hear him play many of these new songs in public.
At a recent performance, someone in attendance described Gil’s music as “somewhere between Ian Anderson and John Lennon.”

Daniel Gil, a star of inspirational Jewish music, is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and is known for his gift for musical healing. Gil has roots in both folk and classical music, the latter often incorporating scenes from his Chasidic heritage. Performing for audiences around the world, Gil has both lectured and played to the tune of Jewish nature and history in both spiritual synagogue settings as well as at impressive locations including the New England Conservatory of Music, Dartmouth College, and Tufts University. Gil recently recorded his newest CD, “Hava Nagila, For Real,” featuring songs from the Kiselgof Archive, the largest musical record of Jewish life from pre-World War I Eastern Europe.
