Support Fund for Family of Fallen Mansfield Boy Nearing $65,000

The fund to support Shane Farrell’s family just keeps growing and growing.

After multiple goal increases and a final goal of $60,000, the GoFundMe campaign has raised $64,682 as of the morning of June 11.

“The past few days have been incredible. We have talked and laughed as we remembered Shane. We have gathered photos, eaten meals, sang and cried together. Many in Shane’s family and our church family have been in awe of the immense kindness and sensitivity that has been showered on Shane’s family - our prayers were not only answered through you all - they were blown out of the water! ” campaign organizer Fran Linden said on the page earlier this week.

Originally, the goal of the page was to make sure that the Farrell family did not have to pay for the funeral expenses of Shane, who died last week. Linden added that Brian, Shane’s father, has decided to arrange and create a scholarship in Shane’s memory.

While the campaign was suppose to end on June 10, donations can still be made.
