Suspect In Mansfield Bank Robbery Arrested At Mohegan Sun

Alfred A Craven Jr. faces charges related to Monday's bank robbery at North Easton Savings Bank.

MANSFIELD, MA — A man wanted in connection to a bank robbery in Mansfield was taken into custody at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut Friday afternoon.

Alfred A Craven Jr., 48, was arrested at the casino and charged with unarmed robbery, larceny over $250, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and disturbing a school assembly, according to the Mansfield Police Department.

Just before 2 p.m. Monday, the North Easton Savings Bank on Copeland Drive was robbed by an unarmed man later identified as Craven. Police say Craven allegedly stole a vehicle from a car wash on Route 44 in Taunton that morning and made his way to Mansfield, where he passed a note to the teller demanding cash before fleeing down Central Street.

During the week, investigators received information that led them from Taunton to the casino in Uncasville. Craven is currently in the custody of the US Marshals and will face federal probation violation charges before he is arraigned in Attleboro District Court, police said.

Craven also faces charges in Taunton District Court.
