Suspect In Mansfield, Stoughton Break-Ins Arrested

MANSFIELD, MA — A Mansfield man charged in break-ins in Mansfield, Stoughton, and Easton was arraigned from a hospital bed Thursday.

Matthew Paige, 27, pleaded not guilty from his hospital bed at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro to four counts of breaking and entering in the daytime, one count of attempting to break and enter and related larceny charges. He was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail after he is released from the hospital, according to the Sun Chronicle. If he posts bail, Paige will have to take random drug and alcohol tests.

Paige was arrested Wednesday and was taken to the hospital following a medical emergency.

In the Stoughton case, police say Paige attempted house break-ins around the Pinecrest area. On Mass. Most Wanted, police said the man ran from two homes when residents answered the door.

He faces more charges for alleged break-ins and attempts on Warren Avenue, Bella Vista Avenue, West Street and Rumford Avenue in Mansfield. He was also wanted on a warrant in Easton.

Paige is due back in court March 8.
