Suspects In Weekend Drug Arrest Face New Charges

The new charges are a result of a search of the vehicle from the arrest.

MANSFIELD, MA — Two men arrested Saturday on drug charges will face more charges.

Kyle M. Laramee, 26, of Falmouth and Patrick K. Berg, 28 of North Attleboro already face multiple trafficking and intent to distribute charges and will now be charged with possession and distribution of drugs and possession of ammunition without an FID, according to the Mansfield Police Department.

The new charges are a result of a search of the vehicle from the arrest.

At 11:22 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man in the parking lot near Kyoto Steak House & Bar at 242 Chauncy St. At the scene, police found that the man in the vehicle, identified as Laramee, was awake and conscious. Following an investigation, he was arrested and charged with possession of unlawful narcotics

The police investigation continued at Laramee's room at the Red Roof Inn Boston – Mansfield/Foxboro at 60 Forbes Blvd. After obtaining a search warrant, officers allegedly found large sums of cash and illegal drugs. The search led to the arrest of Berg, who was in the room at the time of the search.

On Monday in Attleboro District Court, Laramee was ordered held without bail and Berg was held on $5,000 cash bail, according to the Sun Chronicle. Berg’s lawyer, public defender Allyson Totaro, said the drugs did not belong to Berg and he was simply present inside the room.

Both men face up to 20 years in prison.
