Street Race Through Mansfield, Foxboro Leads To Arrest: Police
Police said the two drivers were racing at speeds of 90 mph.
MANSFIELD, MA — A Brockton man was arrested, who police said was racing another SUV at speeds of over 90 mph on Friday morning.
Markes Bruno, 24, was charged with driving without a license, racing a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failing to drive within marked lanes and two other traffic violations.
Around, 2:45 a.m., police told the Sun Chronicle they saw Bruno and another driver racing on Copeland drive. Mansfield and Foxborough Police chased the two drivers up to Foxborough Boulevard, near the Mansfield town line. Police said Bruno stopped, but the second driver kept going until it stopped at an embankment near Jake and Joe's restaurant. A man in dark clothing got out of the car and ran away. Police searched the area, but no one was found.

Bruno was arraigned in Attleboro District Court Friday afternoon and is being held on $1,000 bail. His lawyer said Bruno wasn't racing, but was being chased by the other driver, the Sun Chronicle reported. Bruno pleaded not guilty.
