"Teardrop Bandit" From Mansfield Robbery Admits to More Bank Heists

Robert Chadronet, 38, formerly of East Providence, R.I., pleaded guilty to three counts of bank robbery.

A Rhode Island man who robbed banks in Mansfield, Foxborough, Sharon, Needham and Franklin has admitted to robbing three more banks.

Robert Chadronet, 38, formerly of East Providence, R.I., pleaded guilty Tuesday in Hartford federal court to one count of bank robbery and admitted that he committed two bank robberies in Connecticut and one in Massachusetts, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Chadronet used force and intimidation to rob approximately $1,000 from a branch of TD Bank located at 1003 West Main Street in Branford on July 27, 2015; approximately $2,329 from a branch of Citizens Bank located at 1187 Boston Post Road in Westbrook, on August 27, 2015, and approximately $697 from a branch of Citizen’s Bank located at 2991 Cranberry Highway in Wareham, Mass., on Sept. 9, 2015.

Back in 2005, the man known as the "Teardrop Bandit" robbed area banks. During his sentencing in 2008, he was sentenced to four years in prison in the Foxborough robbery, a concurrent term of three years in the Mansfield incident, and three years for robberies in Sharon, Needham and Franklin, according to the Sun Chronicle.
