Town Meeting Article Looks to Stop Public Safety/DPW Complex Debt Exclusion

A resident is looking to reverse a close vote that granted the funding for the $34.9 million complex.

A local resident has submitted a proposed article for the Annual Town Meeting that aims to strip the funding for a proposed $34.9 million complex for the police, fire, and public works departments.

Ron Webster’s article to strip the funding has been submitted for consideration. Town Clerk Marianne Staples told the Sun Chronicle that the signatures submitted with the article have been certified.

Webster argues that the cost of the building is too high and believes that the project can be done for less.
