Two Charged In Mansfield Snow Equipment Theft

MANSFIELD, MA — Two suspects in a Mansfield snow equipment theft investigation appeared in court last week.
Mark DePillo, 50, of Foxborough, and Derek Wazan, 48, formerly of Wrentham and now Nantucket, face charges of larceny and conspiracy. They were arraigned Friday in Attleboro District Court, according to the Sun Chronicle.
Both men are accused of taking a snowblower and snow plow from local businesses. DePillo faces similar charges in Wrentham District Court for an incident in Foxborough. Wazan allegedly gave statements to police that conveyed that the two were involved in similar crimes.

In the Mansfield case, DePillo allegedly took a snowplow and snowblower from businesses in Mansfield. When DePillo was taken into custody, he was found in a truck that belonged to Wazan and was similar to the one caught on surveillance at the scene of the alleged crimes.
DePillo’s attorney, Daniel Rich, called the evidence weak.

Depillo was ordered held on $2,000 bail and Wazan was ordered held on $1,000 bail. Both are due back in court Dec. 29.
