Morning Crash in Mansfield Injures Two

The crash took place at the Elm Street bridge.

MANSFIELD, MA - A car crash closed the Elm Street bridge for about an hour Tuesday morning,

The crash took place at about 8:30 a.m., according to the Mansfield Police Department. Two people were taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with injuries.

Both vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged, police said.

Police blocked both sides of the bridge during the accident and Mansfield fire cleaned up five gallons of spilled gasoline. The bridge was reopened around 9:30 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation by Mansfield Police Accident Re-Constructionist David Kinahan and Sgt. Michael Ellsworth.
