Two Men Charged With Assaulting Police Officers During Xfinity Center Show
Two men from Taunton and Warwick, R.I. are charged with assaulting three police officers in separate incidents.

Two men have been charged with assaulting three police officers Saturday night around the Xfinity Center during a Dierks Bentley concert.
Ward Tavares, 18, of Taunton, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct during an arraignment hearing at Attleboro District Court, according to the Sun Chronicle.
According to a report, Tavares was at the Xtra Mart near the venue when an officer asked him to leave due to his behavior towards an employee. He then refused to leave and spit at the officer. Tavares is a former Xfinity Center employee who was fired earlier in the day for drinking on the job according to police.

In a separate incident, Stephen Major, 33, of Warwick, R.I., was charged with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, assault and battery, and resisting arrest. According to a police report, Major was involved in a confrontation with members of the Xfinity Center security staff when two officers tried to escort him out of the venue. The officers were allegedly struck by Major’s elbows.
Both cases were continued to August.
