Uptown Burger Bar Coming to Mansfield
The new restaurant will be located at 287 School St. inside the old Radio Shack.

MANSFIELD, MA — A new burger restaurant is moving into the old Radio Shack on School Street.
Last week, the selectmen approved a liquor license for Uptown Burger Bar, located at 287 School St.
Owner Gregory Stevens told the board that he has years of experience with restaurants in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He currently operates Bella Sarno Ristorante in North Attleboro but plans on transferring the establishment to another person to focus on his new Mansfield venture.

The restaurant was described as mostly a burger joint with a younger clientele. The alcohol will largely consist of beer and wine at the bar.
"I'm looking for this to be two burgers and a beer as opposed to five beers and a burger," Stevens said at a recent selectmen meeting.

Stevens does have one liquor license violation from a 2012 North Attleboro compliance check where the bartender did not check the ID of a man he thought he already checked during a busy evening.
After a two week delay to clarify the floor plan, the selectmen granted the license on March 16.
One of the licenses was one of two from a petition to the state legislature. The licenses are restricted by location.
