Woman Pleads Guilty to Hit and Run on I-495 in Mansfield, Gets Jail Time

Marlena T. Thornley, 46, pleaded guilty in Attleboro District Court.

MANSFIELD, MA - A Lakeville woman will spend time in jail after admitting to injuring someone in a hit and run on Interstate 495.

Marlena T. Thornley, 46, pleaded guilty in Attleboro District Court to fleeing the scene of the crash that took place last summer, according to the Sun Chronicle. She will serve 60 days of a one-year jail sentence. The balance of the term was suspended for two years with probation. Thorney was ordered to attend classes for reckless drivers and continue mental health counseling.

Last June, Thornley was driving on Interstate 495 North near South Main Street when she drove into the back of another vehicle. The driver of the other car suffered injuries.

Witnesses told police that Thornley's vehicle was speeding and changing lanes several times.

Thornley's car was found by state police. It reportedly had heavy front-end damage.
