Be sure to stop by the Masonic Lodge at 62 Pleasant  Street on Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November 6 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for the annual Baked Beads Blowout Sale.  I go every year and get amazing stuff for my daughters. OK, I get it for myself but pretend it's for them.  So much fun.

SUGAR BLUES WORKSHOP AT THE Y TONIGHT

Worried about eating too much sugar this Halloween?  Bring your sweet tooth and concerns to the Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA tonight from 7-8:30 p.m. and enjoy a nutrition workshop with Christine Lucas. Learn about the connection between sugar, energy and the way your body feels. Instead  of overloading on sweets, learn how to overcome unhealthy cravings and sugar addiction. Fee for members is $15. Cost is $20 for the community.

JCC AND GIFT OF LIFE SAY THANKS

I just got an e-mail from the JCC about the recent Bone Marrow & Stem Cell Drive to help a mother battling leukemia. Sixteen people became potential donors, swabbing their cheeks to see if they're a match for Melissa Evan of Newton who needs  a stem cell transplant soon to survive.  It will take about three weeks to determine if there's a match.  The JCC wants to thank everyone who stopped by to help out.   The Gift of Life may schedule another drive in the next few weeks for people who didn't get a chance to participate.  Stay tuned!
