2 Marblehead Beaches Closed To Swimming On Thursday
The Marblehead beaches are three of the nearly 70 that were closed statewide because of bacteria exceedance on Thursday.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Three Marblehead beaches were added to the list of nearly 70 statewide that were closed to swimming on a hot and sunny summer day on Thursday because of high bacteria counts.
The Marblehead Board of Health said Grace Oliver Beach and Gas House Beach were closed to swimming due to the bacterial exceedance.
"The beaches have been posted, and we have taken new samples with results coming back (Friday) afternoon," the Board of Health said. "Once we have the new results, we will hopefully reopen the beach to swimming."
