2 Marblehead Candidate Forum Nights Set For High School

Candidates in the six contested races are invited to speak over two nights on May 23 and May 24.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The Marblehead League of Women Voters will host two candidate nights for those running in the six contested races set for June 20.

Jeff Shribman will moderate the forums set for Marblehead High on May 23 and May 24 at 7 p.m. There are six contested races on this year's ballot with 17 open seats.

The public is invited to meet the candidates informally beginning at 6:30 p.m. Audience questions are welcomed.

The schedule for May 23 includes candidates for the Marblehead Municipal Light Commission, Board of Health and Select Board. On May 24, the schedule includes the Library Board of Trustees, Recreation and Park Commission and School Committee.

Candidates for uncontested openings will be introduced to the audience.

Marblehead Television will broadcast the event live and on replay at select times. The recordings will also be on the League of Women Voters of Marblehead website.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization of women and men that encourages informed and active participation in government and works to increase understanding of major public policy issues. Membership is open to all.
