5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 5

1. It should be another beautiful spring day in Marblehead. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be sunny, with a high near 51. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 31. (sunrise, 6:18 a.m.; high tide, 10:35 a.m.; low tide, 4:44 p.m.; sunset, 7:14 p.m.)

2. The Board of Health unanimously approved the issuance of two local fowl permits at their meeting at the Wednesday night. The permits, each for hens only, were awarded to Eric and Diana Ohlson of 14 Dunn's Lane and Lauren Lautner of 19 West Street.

3. Hollywood superstar Adam Sandler will begin filming scenes for his new film "Grown Ups 2" in Marblehead next month. Happy Madison Productions is looking for local residents to cast as extras - to find out how you could make it into the movie. 

4. Work is underway inside the future home of 'The Candy Pop Sweet Shoppe' on Washington Street. The store has reportedly cleared several hurdles and construction is expected to begin next week. for details.
