5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 8

Today is Thursday, Nov. 8, and here are the five things you need to know:

1. You'll want to be prepared for some wet weather in Marblehead today. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect rain and a high near 45. Tonight should be cloudy, with a low around 35. (sunrise, 6:26 a.m.; low tide, 11:45 a.m.; sunset, 4:27 p.m.; high tide, 5:57 p.m.)

2. Marblehead High School's cheerleading squad is aiming for a state championship. They will compete at the MSSAA Sectionals at Beverly High School at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Click Here for our full story.

3. The Conservation Commission will meet tonight in the lower-level conference room of the Mary Alley Municipal Building on Widger Road. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., is expected to feature a discussion regarding proposed repairs to a pier on Front Street, according to the posted agenda.
