5 Things You Need to Know Today: Oct. 5

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Marblehead.

Today is Friday, Oct. 5, and here are the five things you need to know:

1. It should be a beautiful day, so be sure to get outside and enjoy it. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be partly sunny, with a high near 72. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 59. (sunrise, 6:45 a.m.; low tide, 9:01 a.m.; high tide, 3:14 p.m.; sunset, 6:17 p.m.)

2. Marblehead High School's varsity football team will look to remain unbeaten this afternoon as they travel to Newburyport to take on Clippers. The game will be Marblehead's first chance to avenge a brutal loss last October where they amazingly blew a 26-7 point lead in the fourth quarter. It is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
