A little slice of isolated heaven

What made Adam Sandler pick Marblehead? I asked my friends in Hollywood, but didn't get an answer. My guess is that Marblehead has protected itself from the outside world by keeping the highways at bay, like the shore in Connecticut.

When one lives in the mobile society, Florida, Virginia, Texas, one notices that there is always a highway nearby. Not for Marblehead, the bucolic community fought the highway system, voting down an I9a5 spu that was supposed to enter Vinnin Square, feeding there where the Super Stop & Ship, coming down from Salem through Lynn Sand & Sgtone. Nope, the Metro Boston luddites won. For Boston is this is a great thing, for they had to do the Big Dig instead of building an inner beltway through communities. Did Marblehead win?

I say yes. The community is stable. WHen it takes a half hour up fro Lynn or down from Peabody, there is less attraction from outsiders. New housing with the royal bathrooms are great, but try to neat a 3500 suare foot house. Enjoy meeting the new neighbors every month or so.

Give me the seclusion of the harbor, anytime.
