MARBLEHEAD, MA — An inaugural Marblehead event to share support services for those dealing with mental and social-emotional health issues — especially the teen and adolescent population that reports show are struggling with these issues more than ever before — is set for this Saturday at Hobbs Playground on Clifton Avenue.
The Marblehead Counseling Center is partnering with local sponsors and vendors for the Community Wellness Day from 1 to 4 p.m.
"For 55 years, the MCC has provided important mental health, wellness and social services to our
wonderful community," MCC Board of Directors President Ruth Ferguson said. "We thought organizing a Community Wellness Day would be a great way to bring folks together and showcase some of the wonderful organizations and individuals whose funding allows the MCC to offer such vital services, as well as local businesses that keep our community healthy and thriving."
Community Wellness Day is a free, family-friendly event welcoming people from Marblehead and its neighbors. There will be health and wellness vendor exhibits along with fun activities including pony rides, an ice cream truck and giant classic games.
T-shirts commemorating the 55th Anniversary of the Counseling Center and featuring the winning design by Marblehead student Samantha Cooper will be available for sale at Community Wellness Day. Proceeds from T-shirt sales will go directly to support the Counseling Center's continued mission to provide mental health and social services to Marblehead and its neighbors.
