MARBLEHEAD, MA — North Shore Civic Ballet is asking Marblehead-area residents and businesses to help with its annual online holiday auction, which will support scholarships and other program needs.
The auction is scheduled to run from Nov. 13 through Dec. 4 on Bidding for Good.
The company is in its 52nd season. Net proceeds from the auction support scholarships, new choreography, costuming, special educational projects, and required dance equipment and resources.
During the North Shore Civic Ballet's 2025-2026 season, seven scholarships were awarded to students to study dance, according to the organization.
Before the auction opens, items may be previewed only. North Shore Civic Ballet said it is seeking donations of gift cards and gift certificates for services and products, along with artwork, jewelry, handmade items and apparel. It also invited donations tied to hotel stays, restaurants, spas, retail stores, car detailing, massages, photography, craft items, luxury services, sports events, concerts, performances, theaters, excursions, museums and other experiences.
Drop-off donations can be brought to the Marblehead School of Ballet, but donors are asked to call 781-631-6262 in advance to schedule a pickup or drop-off, according to the organization.
"The North Shore Civic Ballet is committed to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of dancers by giving young people the opportunity to develop their technique, discover their artistic voices, and experience the transformative power of dance. With the generous support of our community through the auction, we can open doors to meaningful experiences that might otherwise be out of reach," said Paula K. Shiff, artistic director of North Shore Civic Ballet.
Financial contributions may also be made directly to the ballet company. The organization said it is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and that contributions are tax-deductible as permissible by law.
