Four of Marblehead High School's Dance Team members will be performing with Boston Youth Moves at the Boston University Theater this weekend. When not dancing with the high school team, Katie Callahan-Muller, Mia Martelli, Jennie Matuschak, and Sofia Rietti commute into Boston four days a week to study with the Boston Youth Moves Company under the direction of Jeannette Neill and Jimmy Viera. The mission of Boston Youth Moves, a pre-professional dance training program, is to encourage young people, through training in the art of dance, to explore their limitless potential for artisitc expression and personal success. In total, the girls each dedicate more than 25 hours a week to their passion. They have learned to balance demanding academic workloads, busy social lives, community service, extra-curricular school activities, and intensive dance training. In addition to time management skills, dance has given them strength, confidence, and camaraderie. For more information about the performance, please visit http://bostonyouthmoves.org/.
