Salem Five Charitable Foundation Awards $25,000 to Massachusetts Nonprofits

SALEM, Mass. – November 13, 2012 – Continuing to demonstrate its commitment to positively impacting regional communities and the nonprofit organizations that serve them, the Salem Five Charitable Foundation awarded a total of $25,000 to 25 local nonprofit organizations. The funds are proceeds from the foundation’s 25th annual golf tournament held at the Salem Country Club. Each year Salem Five employees nominate organizations that they are personally involved in. Twenty-five are then selected to each receive a $1,000 award.

“Salem Five listens to its customers, community and employees,” said Joseph M. Gibbons, president and chief executive officer of Salem Five Bank. “Our Charitable Foundation golf tournament is a great intersection of these groups and provides us the opportunity to recognize the various agencies and organizations that they’re involved in. We look forward to seeing how our grants will help further the respective missions and activities of these organizations as well as the services they provide.”
