SMASH Star Comes to Marblehead

Jeremy Jordan is coming to A Dancer's Dream, in Marblehead this summer as part of a week-long performing arts camp to be held from July 15th to 20th.

Led by Disney, Nickelodeon and Broadway casting director David Petro, the professional performing arts camp will feature classes on dancing, acting, voice, film-making, college advisory and many more. Participants will also receive a free professional headshot and resume.

Registration is open to ages 8 to 25; all experience levels are welcome, with a special Teacher Day's within the intensive week.

The summer camp culminates with live musical performances, and a student-run film festival which features the films created throughout the week.

Jordan starred in the film “Joyful Noise” along with Queen Latifah, Keke Palmer and Dolly Parton. He played Jack Kelly in Disney's “Newsies” on Broadway for which he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance.

In June 2012, Jordan was cast as in the lead role of Jimmy in the Steven Spielberg-produced NBC hit series “Smash.”  The second season of “Smashpremiered on Feb. 5.

It was recently annoucned, Jeremy will star opposite Academy Award Nominee, Anna Kendrick in the film adapation of "The Last Five Years".

“We are thrilled to offer this amazing educational opportunity to our community,” said Beth Wheeler of A Dancer's Dream. “The elite professional instruction of David Petro, Jeremy Jordan, and the BBT faculty, are extraordinary– this is such a wonderful opportunity for aspiring performers to learn from seasoned professionals and network with people actively involved in the entertainment business.”  

Enrollment is $495 a person by May 15 and $595 a person after May 15. The class meets each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at A Dancer's Dream.
