Art Walk This Weekend
The Marblehead Chamber of Commerce is hosting an art walk this weekend, which offers area residents the chance to take in locally-created art at a variety of venues.
This weekend, the will host the fourth annual Marblehead Art Walk, an event aimed at providing residents the opportunity to stroll through town and take in an assortment of artistic offerings on display at a variety of local businesses.
The collaboration between the chamber and the will showcase art created by 60 area artists and will allow local retailers, restaurants and health and wellness professionals to fill residents in on the services they offer as they pass through their stores.
"You can walk in a group or you can walk around as an individual. This is a great opportunity for people to come out and take advantage of our walkable community here in Marblehead," said Chamber Executive Director Ann Marie Casey, adding, "Not every artist has their own gallery or venue to showcase their work, and this is a nice pairing because it gives both the artist and the businesses the chance to market themselves."

Although the event will primarily take place during business hours on Saturday and Sunday, residents are invited to attend open receptions, which will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at many of the participating locations.
Brochures detailing the event and all participating businesses are currently available at the chamber's office, the chamber's information booth and online at www.marbleheadchamber.org.

"This is just a great concept because it really is a intuitive pairing a lot of businesses end up displaying the art on their walls after the art walk is over," Casey said. "This is just another great way to promote local art and culture and the businesses we have here in town."
