Athlete of the Week: Lindsey Cohen
Three sport athlete Lindsey Cohen is at home on the field or on the court, and she never quits.
Lindsey Cohen is in the middle of the tennis season for Marblehead, her most recent match a thrilling win in doubles over Andover with her partner Annie Ryan.
Marblehead needed a win in first doubles after Andover took two out of three singles matches. Cohen and Ryan lost the first set 6-1, but stormed back to win 6-4, 6-3 to pull the Headers even at 2-2.
The Golden Warriors won second doubles to take the victory 3-2, a strong showing by the MHS girls, up against a division one opponent.

“She’s no stranger to competition, she’s extremely coachable and she’s probably the most intense fighter on the team,” Marblehead girls’ tennis coach Tim Stonecipher said.
“Annie and Lindsey were All-Conference last year, and I knew coming into this season that I could count on them when we needed points, the two are very compatible on the tennis court,” Stonecipher said.

Cohen’s favorite sport is all three of them, basketball, soccer or tennis, whichever one is in season.
“Tennis is probably the toughest sport I play, just from a preparation standpoint,” Cohen said. “You’ve got to get ready to play quickly, after not playing for most of the winter.”
“Lindsey has great determination, she takes advantage of her talent, works extremely hard and even though she’s just a junior, she’s a great leader,” Stonecipher said.
