Athlete of The Week: Olivia Raisner
Marblehead senior Olivia Raisner has had some great moments playing three sports for the Headers in 2010-2011.

Marblehead senior Olivia Raisner kicked off her school vacation with a blast, five-goal effort in a 17-17 tie with the Pentucket girls' lacrosse team.
Raisner is the co-captain of coach Annie Pugh's 2011 squad, and she was co-captain of the Headers basketball team this past season. She finished her high school football career undefeated, when the Powder Puff team blasted Swampscott last November.
One of the high points of her Marblehead athletic career was ending a 40-game losing streak, making the basketball state tournament and earning an emotional win over Swampscott.

"I've loved lacrosse since it started here in Marblehead when I was in fifth
grade," Raisner said. "I try to be a good leader on and off the field
whenever I can, and I try to help the younger players on the team."

A note from girls' lacrosse head coach Annie Pugh:
Olivia is a solid, consistent, and smart lacrosse player who is able to execute any where on the the field. As of lately, Olivia's major role has been to take charge of our younger attack and make plays happen. Olivia takes care of the ball and makes the "best" decision and doesn't take the "first." You can see this by looking at her shot percentage so far...overall 84%. She doesn't force goals she allows them to happen. This patience is what makes her superior to other athletes her age.
Olivia was unanimously elected co-captain of the team due to her ability to lead both on and off the field. It is pleasure to coach Olivia and I hope that she is able to take her skills to the lacrosse field at Bowdoin next year. I truly have been impressed by Olivia's skills since the day I walked onto the Marblehead Lacrosse field. She has always looked to improve her skills in order to take that next step towards success whether it was for her personal goals or for her team goals. Any team and coach would be lucky to have such a dedicated and skilled player.
