NARRATIVE SUMMARY:
The Mugford Street Players of Marblehead announce open auditions for a March 2018 production of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, OUR TOWN - on Sunday, December 4 from 1:30pm-4:30pm, Tuesday, December 5 from 6:00-8:30pm and Wednesday, December 6 from 6:00-8:30pm at Abbot Public Library, 235 Pleasant Street in Marblehead.
All roles are available. John Fogle directs (www.johnfogle.com). Rehearsals will be held three times per week in Marblehead.
OUR TOWN will perform three weekends March 1-25 at Marblehead Little Theatre in Marblehead, MA.
Auditioners are asked to prepare and present a two-minute dramatic or comedic monologue. Cold readings will also be conducted from the script.
The cast requires more than 30 actors to portray the townspeople of Grover’s Corners – including young lovers Emily and George (age range 14-24), their parents, Mrs. & Mrs. Webb and Mr. & Mrs. Gibbs (age range 35-45) and the Stage Manager (45-70), plus actors of all ages to play the town’s farmer, constable, doctor, teacher, milkman, choir-master, baseball stars, undertaker…even the dead.
