Benefits Of Oysters On Display In Marblehead

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The benefits of a healthy oyster population to a coastal community will be the focus of an open house and dedication at the Oyster Upweller open house in Marblehead on Thursday.

The event is set from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with the dedication of a new water refill station at 5:15 p.m.

Residents are invited to come by and learn about the 40,000 oysters that have been taken care of this summer, and how oysters are natural water filters that also support coastal restoration.

A new water refill station will also be dedicated in honor of Sustainable Marblehead members Steve Wolf and Rob Howie for their ongoing stewardship of the town's waterways.
