Bergeron of Boston Bruins Raffle to Help Injured Player

Denna Laing suffered a severe spinal injury while playing hockey at Gillette Stadium.

MARBLEHEAD, MA - Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins is helping raise money to aid in the recovery of Denna Laing, who suffered a severe spinal injury at Gillette Stadium on New Year’s Eve.

Laing, 24, who grew up in Marblehead crashed into the stadium’s boards at the first NWHL Winter Classic game and currently has limited movement in her arms and no feeling in her legs. She recently regained the ability to speak, according to her Twitter page.

Laing played college hockey at Princeton and works as a witness victim advocate at the Essex County district attorney’s office.

In an effort to support Laing, Bergeron will donate his personal suite which includes 12 tickets including food for the January 26th game against the Anaheim Ducks. The seats will be given to winners of a raffle.

After the game Bergeron will host a meet and greet with all 12 attendees.

Raffle tickets cost $5 each with a minimum purchase of two per person. The entry deadline is Monday Jan. 25 at 1:00 p.m. All proceeds from this raffle will benefit the Denna Laing Fund. Click HERE to get your tickets.
