In-Store Book Signing with Qais Akbar Omar, Author of A Fort of Nine Towers: An Afghan Family Story
Join the Spirit of '76 Bookstore for a book signing and meet-and-greet with Qais Akbar Omar, author of A Fort of Nine Towers: An Afghan Family Story. Qais will be at the bookstore from 3PM- 5PM on Sunday, August 4th to sign books and chat with readers. The set up for this event is an informal sit-down book signing, there will not be a lecture at this time. Those who are interested are welcome to join Beth Grader at her home (9 Mill Pond) for a reception from 5PM- 7PM for a chance to speak further with Qais and to meet Afghan poet Shogofa Amina. Shogofa will be reading selections from her recent publication "The Sky Is a Nest of Swallows," a collection of poetry written by Afghan Women which is part of the Afghan Women's Writing Project.
Authentic Afghan food, and beverage refreshments well be available at the reception at the Grader home.
It has been asked that those who wish to attend the reception please make a $50.00, tax deductible donation to Regis College for the furthering of Shogofa's college degree here in the United States.
