Boston Marathon 2015 Runner Profile: Tim Sullivan, Running to Honor Daughter's Friend
Sullivan is running in support of Massachusetts General Hospital's Pediatric Cancer Center.

Name: Tim Sullivan
Age: 46
Profession: Director, Environmental Health & Safety, Takeda Pharmaceuticals
Marathon experience: 1st ever Boston marathon
Reason for running: I am running to raise funds for the Mass General Hospital Pediatric Cancer Center to honor the memory of Megan Sheehy. Megan was a dear friend of my daughter Niamh since their pre-school days. She was a wonderful young woman who was beyond her years with her grace and determination and I am so thankful for her profound and lasting influence on my daughter’s life. MGH provided great care and support for Megan and her parents, Tim and Jean, and all donated funds will aid current and future patients and bolster the process of finding a cure for childhood cancer. I hope to raise as much money as possible for MGH and I am proud to wear our team color of light blue (Megan’s favorite) calling to mind last summer’s blue ribbon outpouring to boost her spirits. Another marathon motivation for me pertains to my son Devin, who stood just four stores away from the first explosion on Boylston in 2013. We feel so blessed that he was not harmed, and I am looking forward to a celebratory finish line moment for our family.
Charity (if applicable): MGH Pediatric Cancer Center, Here’s my profile page.
Training tip: I run three days per week and mix in biking and swimming to help minimize overuse injuries.
