Earth Day Transportation at Tower School

Earth Day was celebrated for a full week last month, which culminated in student-led composting demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, seed plantings, and one of our favorites

Earth Day was celebrated for a full week last month, which culminated in student-led composting demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, seed plantings, and one of our favorites—Alternative Transportation Day.

Students from Tower’s Environmental Committee surveyed those who participated in Alternative Transportation Day about their method of transportation to school. From the group of 142 respondents, biking and carpooling topped the list of energy-conscious modes of transportation, followed by: riding the bus, walking, and skateboarding.

Since Alternative Transportation Day, we’ve noticed that our bike rack holds a few new bikes each week!
