Get a Jump on Summer with the Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA

This Saturday, April 27th from 12:00-3pm, we invite you to join us in celebrating Healthy Kids Day®, a free community event to get kids moving and learning and families living healthier.  Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of families and to help them get a jump on creating a healthier summer. Activities include a nature hike, fishing, pool games, a reading initiative, family gymnastics dance party, fitness and cooking classes, and Nerf Blasters to name a few. Special guests include Home Depot who will run a wood working project, Eastern Mountain Sports with a full camping demo, along with Salem and Marblehead Fire Departments talking about fire safety.

Our afternoon of fun also includes our camp open house that showcases all that our summer camps have to offer.  Directors and counselors from our summer camps will be on hand running camp games and activities through out the Y. Activities include cooking a delicious meal with Chef’s camp, hiking through the Forest River Conservation land with Adventure camp, making your way through a gymnastic obstacle course with Shooting Stars Gymnastics camp, shooting a bow and arrow with Archery camp, cooking over a fire with Children’s Island camp and playing a variety of different sports with Sortsmania camp.

Participants will be able to enter their names into our raffles. Winners will be announced every hour and prizes include: $25 off a YMCA program, $50 off camp registration, and 1 free week of summer camp. We have lots of giveaways and special incentives too - don't miss the fun this Saturday from 12-3pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
