Hobie Cat Company has announced Little Harbor Boathouse in Marblehead as the Authorized Hobie Kayak and Standup Paddle Board Dealer for Boston’s North Shore.  The new Water Sports Store at Little Harbor Boathouse carries a full line of Hobie kayaks and accessories including Mirage Drive Fishing Kayaks, Adventure Island Series - pedal, paddle and sail kayaks, single and tandem paddle kayaks, Hobie Standup Paddle Boards, Echo Open Water Rowing Shells and HovieSUP.

Maryellen Auger, owner, has a passion for watersports. “My enthusiasm for being on, in and around the water and building a business of on-the-water fun and fitness resonates with the soul of the Hobie Way of Life”. Since 1950, Hobie has been in the business of shaping a unique lifestyle based around fun, water, and quality products. From their headquarters in Oceanside, California, Hobie Cat Company manufactures and markets an impressive collection of watercraft worldwide. These include an ever-expanding line of recreation pedal-driven and paddle sit-on-top recreation and fishing kayaks, inflatable kayaks and fishing boats plus a complementary array of parts and accessories.

“I’m very pleased Little Harbor Boathouse has become part of the Hobie Cat Company family.  It’s a great expansion for water sports lovers in Marblehead and the region.   Our goal is to serve our local community as well as draw anglers, kayakers and standup paddle boarders from across the region to come for a day or a stay to play, shop and dine in Marblehead”, said Auger.   She first started Rowing For All in 2009 with Echo Rowing and opened Little Harbor Boathouse in 2010 to serve the growing kayaking and standup paddle board community. In addition to sales, LHB offers seasonal kayak and standup paddle board rentals, group programs, coaching and affordable Season Passes for local paddlers.  Maryellen is currently getting indoctrinated into kayak fishing as the sport becomes more and more popular in New England.
